Weeks 20 and 21

Officially OVER halfway through this pregnancy!  Thank goodness.  Pregnancy has been rough for me.  I thought I'd just LOVE it.  It's pretty much the opposite, but I know the outcome at the end is going to be worth it.  School started back up, and so begins the next few months of getting up at 5 am to drive to Tucson twice a week.  I'm exhausted, but it will be manageable for the next few months (until I start to get huge!).  I also started my internship.  I absolutely LOVE it.  I am so lucky.  My supervisor is actually my age and just had a son last April, so we have a lot in common and a lot to talk about.  The clients are awesome and the days fly by.  Hopefully it will make this last semester of grad school fly by!  I'm lucky to not have anything on Fridays to give me a chance to recover from the other four busy days!  I had to work with adults all last semester, and I didn't really love it, but being back with kiddos reminds me how much I love this field and how excited I am to start my career (once I've had a few months at home with Andy, of course!).  My parents also came into town last weekend and it was nice to get to spend time with them!  Hopefully they'll be able to come down a lot when Andy is born.  They're talking about doing a vacation rental down here for the summer so they can be around to help out with the crazy newborn times!

By the end of this week, Andy will be the size of a spaghetti squash.  My friend Candice, her son Oliver, Jiggs, and I walked over to a farmer's market in my neighborhood and I thought it was funny to send this picture to Adam. (It's a spaghetti squash, FYI).
Jiggs approves of the rug choice for Andy's room.  We decided to go with grey, light and navy blue, and white for nursery colors.  Jiggs thinks the rug is his.

Poor Jiggs.  We got Andy a pretty sweet U of A football warm-up outfit, and decided to test out our baby-dressing abilities on Jiggs.
Weekly update (I know I missed a few, so this will be more like a compilation of the last few weeks).
21 week bump…feeling quite large.

How far along: 21 weeks
Maternity clothes:  All maternity clothes now.  I wear leggings as often as I can.  I try to throw on old big shirts for "working out" and lounging and they don't fit over my belly.  Sigh!
What I miss:  Clothes that fit!  Not being tired!  Feeling in control of my body!
Exercise:  I've been trying to step it up a little bit.  At my last appointment my doctor said I was gaining a little too much weight and to be mindful of that fact, so I'm trying to get out and walk in our hilly neighborhood some more and go to some more workout classes.  My friend Megan teaches a class called Karve, which combines pilates, yoga, and the barre method, and it's a great preggo workout.  I bought a class pack so I need to make use of it!
Cravings:  Vanilla yogurt with chocolate chips and pomegranate seeds.  Yum. I have this almost every day.  Cereal for breakfast.  And sweets..I think I'm keeping Yogurtology in business.  No wonder I'm gaining so much weight.  Oh well.
Aversions:  Nothing really at this point.  I'm still not a huge fan of meat in general, although walking by the meat counter at the store, the raw meat looks delicious.  Don't give me cooked meat though!  So weird.
Symptoms:  Tired.  Headaches.  My hips have started to ache at night and I have horrible tailbone pain, which is probably not helped by sitting in the car 4 hours a day twice a week and then sitting some more for class.
Labor signs: none

Best moments of the week:  Adam felt Andy move for the first time last week. :)  I've been feeling him for a few weeks, but every time I had Adam try to feel, Andy would stop moving.  He finally felt him kick a few times, and of course it made me cry.  I'm so emotional all the time!
