This last weekend was a lot of fun. We decided we would like to tell our close family and friends even though it's still early. If anything bad were to happen (which hopefully NOTHING will), I would rather be able to talk about it with the people I love then to have to deal with it quietly on our own. That being said, we invited my parents into town for a last minute "family house warming party" on Friday and also invited Adam's parents over for dinner. I picked up my parents at the airport around noon and we spent the day having lunch and hanging out. They had no idea the surprise we had! I cooked a really yummy dinner (caprese lasagna and baked zucchini) and while Adam entertained the parents outside in the nice cool fall weather, I set up the table. I got these adorable placecard holders at Pottery Barn and wrote Grandma/Grandpa ___ May/June 2014 on the cards.

I called everyone inside when it was time to eat and told them to find their placecard. It took them all a second to figure out what was going on, but when they figured it out, there were lots of tears and excitement. The first grandbaby on each side!

Saturday I took my parents back to the airport and we relaxed before heading over to Megan, Greg, and Hannah's for dinner. Hannah preceded our arrival by having a huge diaper blowout in which she completely covered herself and her carseat, so we walked up to them trying to figure out how to put in her new big girl car seat. We let them know they were going to have to help us out with the whole carseat thing in June. They were very excited and Megan totally figured that we were going to tell them. It will be so exciting to be living so close to our best friends and to watch our kids grow up together!
I also saw this idea on my friend Leah's blog and really liked it, so I'm going to steal it (hope you don't mind Mama Boo!). She posts a weekly pregnancy update, so I figured I'd join the fun!

| No bump yet! Want to remember where I started :) |
How far along: 5/6 weeks (?)
Maternity Clothes: No maternity clothes yet! Lots of my go-to outfits are leggings/skinny pants and blousey/baggy shirts, so hopefully I won't have to buy a lot of maternity clothes (for a while yet!).
What I miss: Right now, not much. It's no fun watching everyone drink and watch football and enjoy wine, but I'm ok with not waking up hungover. ;) Also, sushi. I know I'm not supposed to eat it. I had sushi happy hour with my friend Monica the night before I found out I was pregnant..wish I had known that would be my last sushi meal for a while as I would have enjoyed it more!
Exercise: Well, with the planned half marathon November 3, I'm really quite behind. I've been so exhausted that running has just not been an option. This past week I went twice (four miles each time) and felt pretty tired at the end, but ok. I guess I'll see in a few weeks how I feel and decide if I'm going to attempt the half or not. Either way, I'm sure it will be completed with a lot of walking!
Cravings: PINEAPPLE! All the time. Today I decided I wanted a rotisserie chicken sandwich and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich..then I got home and decided I didn't want either.
Aversions: Nothing in particular, but I don't really want to eat anything either. Today I had a slice of pizza at Adam's cousin Drake's third birthday party and that was ok..but then I tried salad. The smell was AWFUL and I couldn't even look at it. Oh well.
Symptoms: ALWAYS tired. Doesn't help by Jiggs still not being adjusted to the Scottsdale house. We got a new bed that is too tall for him, so we just ordered dog stairs (yes, we are those dog owners) so we don't have to keep getting up in the middle of the night to let him up/down. I'm also having to go to the bathroom ALL. THE. TIME. Makes the Tucson/Phoenix drive SO fun. Nausea is kind of coming and going..I'll get a short wave, and then be good for a couple hours.
Labor Signs: None
Best moments of this week: Telling our parents and Nate and starting to tell our friends!
